Budapest 2017, Phase 2 has just started.
You may remember that a few months ago Myrtha completed Phase 1 of the FINA World Championships, installing 2 pools in two different locations in Budapest. The purpose was to compensate for the lack of facilities where athletes could properly train before the big competitions scheduled to start from July the 14th until the 30th.
Now these training pools have been dismantled and moved to the other side of the city, at Városliget Park.
Here, just a few meters form Heroes Square Myrtha is moving forward with the re-installation of the pools for the 17th FINA World Championships. The pools will be the home to synchronized swimming warm-up and competitions. The two pools are in fact two: a 50x25x3 m to host training sessions and a 30x25x3 m to host the competitions.
The breaking news of recent weeks is the confirmation that Myrtha Pools will also design a temporary pool for high diving during the 17th FINA World Championships: a circular structure of 15 m diameter and 5.85 m depth, installed at Battyhnány Square. The location is a very special one with the most amazing views from the Danube side: overlooking the Parliament, two of the most beautiful Budapest bridges and Buda Castle.
A custom-made platform, designed for the event, will host the Myrtha swimming pool. The high diving pool installation will begin as soon as the platform will be ready in the next few days. We will keep you posted from the site with all the latest updating! Stay tuned!
