Today, Friday, July 14, 2017, is the 17th edition of the FINA World Championships kick off!
The Championship will go ahead for the next 15 days until Sunday, July 30, giving to athletes and fans a lot of emotions in all competitions: swimming, water polo, synchro, free water swimming, diving and high diving.
Budapest, Hungary is the home to this “can’t miss” sport event. All the various competitions will take place in five different locations: the Duna Arena for diving and swimming, Alfred Hajos Swimming Stadium for water polo, Park Városliget for synchronized swimming, The Lake Balaton for the open water swimming and the Batthyány tér on the Danube for high diving.
At the occasion, Myrtha Pools completed 2 Temporary Pools for Synchro at the city park: one for warm up and another one for the competitions.
You may remember that at beginning of the year, thanks to the flexibility of its technology, Myrtha Pools supported the training of several athletes attending the World Cup. At that time in fact, many facilities of the city were shut down for maintenance while all athletes needed a regular training in view of the July competitions. Myrtha Pools made the athletes’ preparation possible completing two temporary pools in two different areas of Budapest. Then in May, our team dismantled the pools and moved them with new dimensions at Városliget Park setting up everything for the synchro warm up and competitions.
At the occasion of FINA World Championships 2017, Myrtha Pools supplied not only the synchro swimming pool, but also another temporary pool to host the high diving competition. This pool is located close to Battyhány Square, from where you can admire the Parliament, the most beautiful bridges of Budapest as well as the Buddha Castle.
This special 15-meter-width and 6 meter depth pool, features a capacity of 1062 m3 of water and a self-supporting structure: a unique, unparalleled solution in the whole history of the company, representing the answer to an important challenge, not only in terms of engineering and applied technology but also in terms of installation.
At the end of the event, all the pools will be permanently installed in other locations, meanwhile let’s enjoy the competitions! Synchro and diving (from 14 to 22 July) open the program at 11 am!
