On the 15th of August, Kristy Kowal will be glad to sign autographs and take pictures with all her fans in the occasion of the grand opening at the Reedley High Aquatics Complex.
As scheduled, the new state-of-the-art aquatics complex built at the Reedley High School, California Central Valley, will be inaugurated before the start of the 2014-15 school year in August.
Within the complex, that is expected to serve both Reedley High School and the community, as well as host important regional competitions, Myrtha Pools designed and installed a 50m Olympic-size competition pool (50mx25ydx2m) and a warm-up pool (22mx11.5ydx1-1.50m), both built with Myrtha Technology.
The grand opening will see the participation of Kristy Kowal (born on October 9, 1978 in Reading, Pennsylvania), a USA breaststroke swimmer who won the silver medal in the 200m breaststroke at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. She is also a 2 time World Champion (Perth, 1998) in the 100m breaststroke and on the 400 medley relay, where she also won the silver in the 200m breaststroke. She has won multiple international swimming medals in addition to breaking 8 American Records and 1 World record during her career. Kristy was the first American woman to win the World Championships’ title in the 100m breaststroke and also the first American woman to break the one minute barrier in the 100yard breaststroke.
