Myrtha Pools gives away its pool’s water for synchro competitions!
If for diving the new water appearance did not caused any specific issue, the trouble for synchronized swimming would have been huge: in those competitions in fact, crystal clear water is a must both for swimmers, who need to clearly see underwater, and for judges who have to properly assess their choreography during the performance.
The quickest solution available has been to completely drain the pool and fill in see-through and clean water.
Myrtha Pools supported Rio officials giving away its water from one of the pool installed just outside the center. In fact the two Myrtha’s facilities were completely unrelated to the green water phenomenon which affected the two existing pools.
During a ten hours operation, water from the warm-up pool has been pumped into the 50m pool at the Maria Lenk Aquatic Center: just in time for first Synchro competitions starting!
