MYRTHA POOLS HOSTED BY A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE

Myrtha Pools worked on a pool renovation project in Texel, a Dutch island in the middle of the Wadden Sea National Park. Texel is part of the Wadden Sea area which is listed on the UNESCO world heritage list. This means that the pools had to be renovated using sustainable technologies as Myrtha RenovAction is proved to be.
The swimming complex called ‘Molenkoog’ is located in a beautiful contest between the dunes in the tourist surroundings of Den Burg. It has been created around 1970 and underwent a complete renovation twenty years ago. Molenkoog has three swimming pools which include a toddler pool, a 25 meter recreation pool and a 25 meter competition pool.
The refurbishment process started in January 2015 and finished two month later as the complete installation took about 8 weeks’ time. For the refurbishment project, Myrtha Pools adapted three different solutions: Renovaction, Myrtha new build and an hybrid solution.
