With a surface area of 170.000 m² and 116 years of history, the Esporte Clube Pinheiros is the largest Multisport Club of all Latin America.
Located in the City of São Paulo, Brazil, the Club was built in 1899 by Hans Nobiling with the name of “Sport Club Germânia”. In 1942 the original name was changed to the current one.
The Club today boasts more than 38.000 associates, almost 50 different sports including several Olympic medalists, among which is one of the best swimmers worldwide, Cesar Cielo Filho.
Within the Center, Myrtha Pools was in charge of the refurbishment of the main indoor pool, the same pool where Cesar Cielo Filho broke the 50m freestyle world record in 2009. The pool, a 50x25x2.10-2.30m, was built in 1980 and required a total renovation.
The pool, refurbished by using the Myrtha RenovAction technology, is now equipped with competition accessories, such as removable headwalls and Myrtha Track Start starting blocks. Myrtha Pools also replaced the 30-year-old pool filtration system with a new one, which provides a significant cost savings in both water and chemicals for the Center management.
