The original Droitwich Spa Sea Water Lido was opened in 1935, the unique selling feature being the ‘sea water bathing’. The pool water had nearly the same brine content as the “Med” and at a comfortable 21°C (70°F) temperature.
The Lido was closed suddenly in 2000, but following a six year campaign by SALT (Save a Lido Today), re-opened in June 2007 having undergone a sympathetic restoration of the pool and its environs. The re-lining of the existing pool structure, using the Myrtha Renovaction system, to form a 40m x 18m level deck channel pool.
