Esporte Clube Pinheiros, Brazil

With 116 years of history and a surface area of 170.000 m², the Esporte Clube Pinheiros is the biggest Multisport Club of all Latin America.

The green area of 80,000 m2 makes the facility an ideal place for relaxation and for people who love to spend peaceful moments of well-being in a family-friendly atmosphere, far away from the frenetic rhythms of the daily routine. Located in the heart of São Paulo, Brazil, the Club was built in 1899 by Hans Nobiling with the name of “Sport Club Germânia”.

In 1942 the original denomination was changed in the current one.

As for today, the Club boasts more than 38,000 associates, almost 50 different sports and several Olympic medalists, among which the famous swimming champion, Cesar Cielo Filho. In fact, several major Brazilian Olympic swimmers grew up right at the Esporte Clube Pinheiros, by training with constancy every day in this multi-sports facility, which is also home of 7 permanent pools and 25 tennis courts.

Within the Center, Myrtha Pools was in charge of the refurbishment of the main indoor pool (50x25x2.10-2.30m), the same where indeed Cesar Cielo Filho broke the 50m freestyle world record in 2009.

The pool, built in 1980, was definitely obsolete and needed a complete refurbishment. Thanks to its RenovAction technology, Myrtha Pools totally renovated the pool and equipped it with competition accessories, such as removable headwalls and Myrtha Track Start starting blocks. In addition to the refurbishment of the structure, Myrtha Pools replaced the 30-year-old pool filtration system. The new system, if compared to the previous one, allows to save the 80% of water, that means a daily saving of 10.000 liters of water!
