Hangzhou, one of East China’s most thriving cities, held the last swimming event of 2018.
The fourteenth edition of the FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m) took place from December 11-16, 2018 and was set to bring 1,000 athletes from 180 countries and regions across the world to compete at the 10,000-seat Tennis Center, which is part of the spectacular Hangzhou Olympic and International Expo Center.
2 Myrtha Pools for the 2018 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m)
Two Myrtha pools hosted this prominent end of the year Swimming Championships. The competition pool was installed on the Tennis Center’s main court, a perfect venue to accommodate a large number of spectators. The warm-up pool was dedicated to the training of these world-class athletes and was located in a temporary facility attached to the Competition venue.
As is often the case after these special events, the two temporary pools were then dismantled. Their components can be shipped to other venues for permanent installations where the pools will serve the community and sports clubs.
FINA World Aquatics Convention
The six-day sporting event was preceded by the 5th FINA World Aquatics Convention, a prestigious gathering for industry leaders looking to share best practices and knowledge within the aquatic community.
The FWAC 2018 took place from December 8-10, 2018 at the Intercontinental Hangzhou Hotel and once again brought together the best from the Aquatics world: 209 National Federations, Organising Committees, Host Cities, athletes, coaches, and team doctors. It included a 3-day exhibition, panel discussions, one-on-one interviews, coaches clinics, social activities, lunches, and dinners.
