Municipal swimming pool Trecate – Turin, Italy

Myrtha Pools participated at the refurbishment of the Trecate council swimming facility. The aim of the project was to qualify the aquatic services at citizens disposal, through interventions intended to create capacious water facilities able to offer diversified services for all kind of customers. The aim was to built a facility able to offer agonistic and recreational activities (indoor and outdoor activities), with the addition of services oriented to obtain health, rehabilitation and wellness benefits.

The architectural, structural and plant design has been committed to the Paolo Pettene Architectural Firm, specialized in sports plant design, that developed the project in collaboration with the technicians of the Olympic Department of major sports works of the City of Turin.

The planning modalities required that Myrtha Pools intervened as follow:

1) requalification of the preexisting olympic pool to satisfy normative requirements, allowing agonistic competitions even at international level. The pool is provided with a fixed covering that allows the use even in winter time. The pool is 50x21m, variable depth 1.37-3.62m, and has been built using Myrtha RenovAction technology with ceramic overflow gutter. The pool is provided with removable headwall, 8 starting blocks, rope anchors, lane marking lines, 4 stainless ladders and competition accessories;

2) requalification of the preexisting 25×12.5m pool, variable depth 1.37-1.82m, using Myrtha RenovAction technology with ceramic overflow gutter. The pool is provided with removable headwall, 6 starting blocks, rope anchors, lane marking lines, 4 stainless ladders and competition accessories;

3) construction of a new indoor pool 18.9×8.5m, variable depth 0.66-1.21m, destined to water activities and completely accessible. Built using Myrtha technology with overflow gutter and provided with geysers, 2hydro-massage inlets, a fountain, a stainless ladder and a stainless handrails, ant slip floor covering and Softwalk foam mat;

4) construction of a new recreational outdoor pool 30.30×25.95m, variable depths 0.16-0.65-1.21m, built using Myrtha technology and a combination of skimmer and overflow gutter. The pool is provided with water slides, water games, hydro-massage beds, and close to the pool there is a solarium area.

State of the art solutions have been adopted for all the pools in terms of water treatment, using ozone and UV plants. Innovative solutions have been used for the whole plant control; energy saving devices with UTA have been used to recover water, air and all energetic residuals; the facility has also used solutions with high performance certified components as the Myrtha stainless steel laminated with a PVC membrane, structural glass walls, stainless and wood structures, environmental comfort devices and specific equipment suitable to environmental sanitation.

The whole facility has been designed and built respecting the normative and safety requirements of the general sport plant design, the rules for spaces distribution between public and athletes, and the legislation about air and water quality. Particular attention has been paid to the respect of the current regulation regarding the utilization by disabled users.
