Perth 1998, XIII World Swimming Championships

June 1998.The eighth edition of the World Swimming Championships took place in Perth – Australia – at Challenge Stadium, the most prestigious Australian swimming complex, already equipped with four competition pools.

The Organizing Committee, wishing to provide the complex with a fifth pool, specifically destined for water polo, chose Myrtha Pools for the realization of a new prestigious pool.
The permanent pool is built using 2 meter high steel panels and provided with overflow gutter on all the four sides and with ceramic perimeter finishes.
The event has been a smash hit, with more than 1,500 athletes from over 100 Countries in the world.
Still today the swimming pool of the Challenge Stadium is appreciated by the swimming center managers, both for its aesthetic value, and for the simplicity of maintenance.
