MYRTHA POOLS IN THE NEW KROC CENTER OF SALEM, OREGON

Thanks to the donation given in 2003 to the Salvation Army from the widow of Mr. McDonald, the realization of the Kroc Centres continues. The total amount of 1,5 billion dollars has been donated to a charity institution for the realization of centres intended for children and families that otherwise have no chance to access public services such as sport centres, theatres and all forms of recreational areas.

The Salvation Army has divided the donation equally among the four Army areas –Central, East, South and West - and is expecting the realization of thirty-one centres around U.S.A. – four have already been completed and twenty-one are actually been designed and developed.

In most of these projects Myrtha Technology has been chosen for the construction of the pools.

In 2009 we saw the inauguration of the Coeur d’Alene Centre in Idaho and today the opening ceremony of the Salem Kroc Centre in Oregon, immersed in a warm and welcoming contest given to the landscape characteristics: the town, in fact, is situated in the middle of the natural park of Willamette Valley’s river; 47 miles from Portland, one hour from the Cascade mountains, and about an hour from the ocean beaches; furthermore the Centre is immersed in green fields, fruit and flower gardens and vineyards and, all year round, farmer markets overflow with local hand crafted products.

In this Kroc Centre Myrtha Pools has realized a competition pool 25yd x25m with depth ranging from 1.2 to 3.9m and a recreational pool of 105m perimeter, with a zero entry and a maximum depth of 1.2m; the pool has been designed for both children and families with a special theme in mind that relates to the landscape in Oregon, with a hydro massage area, a lazy river and a small mat for open dives.
