Podgorica 2009 Water Polo World Championship FINA

From 16th through 21th June there was the 8th edition of the Man's Water Polo World Championship that was made every year. After a preliminary degree in every different country, this year the city that was selected for the Super Final was the Podgorica in Montenegro.


The structure that have hold the event was the “Morača Sports Center” that was built on a river side of the Morača in the 1978: the center was extended on 5 hectares and it offers tennis tennis court, basketball court, volley ball ground, sauna, swimming pools, gymnasium, grounds, and the possibility to host 4300 spectators (not only for sports but also for concerts).


Myrtha Pools presents the installation of two new swimming pool outdoor with Myrtha Technology: one 33x25 m, with all the accessories necessaries for the water polo, that was utilized for the competitions of the event and one 50x25m that was utilized for the training and in future for possible swimming competitions.


For this event, the biggest city of the Montenegro and also his capital had host 19 team from: Australia, Montenegro, Africa, Croazia, Serbia, Japan, Italy, and the United States of America with also the South Africa and Libia in a world competition.


The competitions were very competitive, and very useful to understand the levels of the different team that after had participated at the 13th FINA World Championship in Rome, on July 2009 and that was closed with the victory of the host team, the Montenegro who had defeat in Final the Croazia. Bronze medals, finally, for the Serbia.
