1996 Atlanta swimming pool - Centenary Olympic Games


July 1996. Myrtha technology adds another important success to its already rich prize-record: after the Rome swimming pool in 1994, the Wien and Rio ones in 1995, also the Atlanta swimming pool, realized at Georgia Institute of Technology, for the water polo competitions on the occasion of the Centenary Olympic Games. It was a completely self-supporting pool, 33 m x 25 yds x 2.2 m: the only part made of concrete was the perimeter curb on which rested the panels. The sand floor was covered by a reinforced PVC coat. The pool was installed in only 12 days and subsequently disassembled and reassembled at Lake Highland Preparatory School in Florida, where a 50 m x 25 yds has been built. The Atlanta Olympic Games, called Centenary Games, have definitively consecrated at world level the quality of Myrtha Technology and its singularity for the temporary installations within official competitions.
