July 1999. On the occasion of the University Games, a new Swimming Center has been built in Palma de Mallorca, equipped with the most advanced technological equipments available today. The chosen place is Son Hugo, after which the sports centre is named. Architect Joaquin Pujol, who signs this highly prestigious project, has chosen Myrtha Technology for all the three swimming pools of the Centre. The first one is a 50 meter indoor stainless steel Ceramic 3 Myrtha, with stands for 700 spectators. It is equipped with movable floor and two bulkheads and it is designed to host international swimming competitions (50 and 25 m), water polo and synchro-swimming. It has furthermore 5 underwater windows for the television broadcast.
The second one is a outdoor pool, another 50 meter stainless steel Ceramic 3 Myrtha, with removable headwalls, 8 underwater windows, suitable for swimming and water polo competitions with wide stands for the spectators.
The third tank, always outdoor, is a 25 meter by 5 diving pool, equipped with two underwater windows and a machine for the creation of a safety air cushion for the entrance in water.
All the three pools have furthermore a perimeter inspection corridor.
