At War Heroes Stadium in Sangrur, Punjab, a 50-meter competition pool that had served local swimmers for more than three decades has been renovated for continued use.
The project marks the first application of RenovAction technology in India. Rather than demolishing and rebuilding the aging concrete basin, the project team renovated the existing structure in place. This approach reduced the scope and disruption of the work while preserving an important facility for local training and competition. The upgraded pool was also designed to meet World Aquatics requirements, supporting its continued use for competitive swimming.
Developed for aging, structurally compromised, or hydraulically outdated concrete pools, RenovAction uses PVC-laminated stainless steel panels to create a new watertight internal structure and renew the pool finish. At Sangrur, the system allowed the existing basin to be modernized without completely rebuilding it, helping reduce construction time, costs, and waste compared with full demolition and reconstruction.

The pool also features the exclusive Myrtha White finish, a surface technology designed to help limit bacterial proliferation and reduce the chemicals required for routine cleaning, supporting water quality and more efficient day-to-day operations.
Delivered in collaboration with general contractor Vishwas Builders, the renovated facility was officially inaugurated by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The project has renewed a long-standing public sports asset for Sangrur and demonstrates how an aging competition pool can be brought up to current standards while retaining its existing structure, history, and role within the local community.
