Hajimari: Myrtha Pools Japan Marks One Year in Tokyo
In Japanese, the word ‘hajimari’ means more than a beginning. It suggests the first step in something that is ready to grow. For Myrtha Pools Japan, one year after establishing its official presence in Tokyo, it feels like the right word.
Since opening as a technical reference point for the Asia-Pacific region, Myrtha Pools Japan has continued to build on a strong foundation. With more than 125 pools already installed across the country, from Olympic-standard competition venues and rehabilitation centres to outdoor leisure facilities, school pools and indoor training environments, Myrtha’s presence in Japan was already well established before the branch was officially created.
On 17 June 2026, Myrtha Pools Japan marked this milestone with an Anniversary Reception at the Imperial Hotel Tokyo, the historic Teikoku Hotel, which has welcomed major international guests and events for more than a century. It was a fitting setting for a company whose technology and experience have earned the trust of architects, municipalities, sports organisations and aquatic facilities across Japan.

Over the past year, the Tokyo branch has brought greater structure, proximity and continuity to Myrtha’s work in Japan and across the wider Asia-Pacific region. The renewed World Aquatics partnership for major international events, the strengthening of local maintenance networks and new projects across the hospitality and municipal sectors all point to a second year already taking shape.
Among the projects ahead are a luxury leisure resort in the Japanese Alps and two new municipal aquatic hubs in Saitama, planned for the end of 2026, and Kanagawa, planned for early 2027. Together, they reflect the breadth of Myrtha Pools Japan’s work and the ambition behind its next stage of growth.
