Re: Harris Construction and Myrtha Pools
On behalf of Kings Canyon Unified School District (KCUSD), I would like to express my sincere appreciation to both Harris Construction and Myrtha Pools. The completion of our Reedley High School Aquatics complex was a dream come true for our students, district, and community. Our student athletes did not have a pool of their own and used the Reedley College Pool for their athletic sports. The students, coaches, district, and community have dreamed of having their own pool like all the high schools they competed against. When the Reedley College pool was shut down, it forced our students to wake up in the early hours of the morning and travel to a sister school district to continue their competitive athletic program. That closure of the pool would ignite a community to rally for a bond measure that would deliver the dream, a new Aquatic Facility.
Kings Canyon Unified School District was able to achieve that dream with the assistance of Harris Construction and Myrtha Pools. I am very grateful for their support, professionalism, and outstanding workmanship they provided in delivering a state of the art stainless steel pool that is an Olympic Standard. It is important to note that the Myrtha pool was more expensive to deliver but the KCUSD board unanimously voted to deliver the state of the art pool because of total cost of ownership specifically; 15 year warranty compared to 1 year with traditional shotcrete pools, shotcrete pools need to be re-plastered every seven to ten years, and research concluded that the maintenance cost is far less than a traditional pool.
Harris Construction and Myrtha Pool’s leadership, ownership, enthusiasm, expectations, and commitment to quality mirrored my own. Their attention to detail and milestones ensured our aquatic center was student ready for the start of school. Additionally, their expertise, honesty, integrity, and standing behind their work made for a team approach and a positive experience. Lastly, the team worked hard to achieve and deliver an exceptional quality project that is truly a one-of-a-kind in the San Joaquin Valley. It is without hesitation that I would highly recommend both Harris Construction and Myrtha Pools.
