The Budapest High Diving pool awarded as the best sports facility of the year!
The 2017 FINA World Championships’ high diving competition venue was chosen as the Sport Venue of the Year at the ISA, the International Sport Awards.
The 17th edition of the FINA World Championships took place in Budapest from July 14th through July 30th and the athletes, the media, FINA sponsors and the world of swimming in general, outlined these Championships as the best edition of the last few years.
For the occasion, Myrtha Pools installed 2 temporary pools for the Synchro competition and training and 1 temporary pool for the high diving.
For the very first time in the history of this aquatic discipline, a temporary pool hosted high-diving competitions.
This unrivaled solution made the high diving competitions a real show by allowing for underwater shooting and giving the audience a chance to see the performance in the water. Moreover, – and this is confirmed by athletes – diving into a well-defined water surface makes the platform rip more precise and calibrated.
In addition, Rhiannan Iffland congratulated for this special structure signed by Myrtha Pools. These compliments are even more special if we consider that Rhiannan Iffland is the Australian athlete awarded as the best high-diver during the fourth edition of the FINA World Aquatics Gala “Soirée des Etoiles” held on December the 2nd in Sanya City, China.
During the evening, a real tribute to the swim- stars, Joey Zuber – one of the world’s leading experts in Cliff Diving – made a presentation concerning the future of high diving, focusing also on the importance of our pools.
