The Myrtha Pools at the 19th Mediterranean Games of Oran 2022
Featuring twenty-six countries from three continents and a total of 3,390 athletes who from 25 June to 5 July will compete in many disciplines, the Mediterranean Games offers a unique test. This international event includes the full range of aquatic events, with both swimming and water polo being contested in vessels supplied by Myrtha Pools. The company has supplied a total of three swimming pools complete with top-notch competition accessories in the new Olympic centre in Oran. Located in the northwest of the country, Oran is the second largest city in Algeria. Thanks to its hosting role with the Mediterranean Games, it boasts a new state-of-the-art aquatic centre with 6,000 seats designed by the ATSP architects. The centre is equipped with an indoor area equipped with a 50m Myrtha swimming pool with a movable bulkhead that guarantees maximum flexibility of use, along with a 25m learning pool that will be used for athlete warm-ups during the Games. Finally, Myrtha has installed a second 50m outdoors pool, perfect for both training and competition as it is also equipped with Myrtha Track Start racing blocks and grandstand seating for spectators.
