What an event in Paris!
In the end, Paris provided the perfect setting for the wide range of Olympic aquatic competitions, where the world’s best athletes delivered exceptional performances.
The facilities, some permanent and others temporary, provided by Myrtha Pools were key to this success. The atmosphere inside the Paris La Défense Arena offered an unforgettable experience for both spectators and athletes, with 19 new Olympic records set, including 4 world records broken, bringing the total number of world records set in Myrtha pools to 177. In addition to swimming, spectators also witnessed the final stages of water polo, where the Spanish women’s team and the Serbian men’s team triumphed. These pools will leave a lasting legacy, as they will become a permanent feature of the urban swimming image in Paris and improve access to aquatic activities for everyone.
The Olympic Aquatic Center (CAO) demonstrated its flexibility by hosting a multitude of events: diving, preliminary stages of water polo, and artistic swimming. The strength of this facility lies in its versatility, with two movable bulkheads and a movable floor allowing the 70-meter pool to be reconfigured according to the event. The diving platform at the CAO once again served as the backdrop for the Chinese athletes’ exploits, who are accustomed to shining with their extraordinary performances.
The CAO’s stands also offered memorable views for admiring the rhythmic beauty and drama of artistic swimming. Beyond all these enduring moments of triumph, Myrtha’s contribution will remain a lasting commitment to aquatic sports. Both the permanent construction of the CAO and the modernization of numerous aquatic centers in the region contribute to a landscape imbued with Olympic tradition, while being ready to serve citizens on a daily basis for decades to come
