Abu Dhabi Club for Special Needs

Mohamed Bin Zayed City

In the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Myrtha Pools has participated in the construction of a 9,000m2 aquatic centre for athletes with special needs. The new centre, the first in this category to be built by Myrtha, was sponsored by the Zayed Higher Organization and the Abu Dhabi Sport Council.

For the state-of-the-art aquatic centre, Myrtha has designed and installed an indoor 50m Olympic Competition Pool. Thanks to the addition of a Myrtha bulkhead, the pool is also easily divided into two 25m pools for short course competitions. The indoor area of the facility is equipped with two full sets of stands for viewing, two change rooms, and a media centre. And outside, a 25m Myrtha pool has been installed as part of the aquatics facility.

The Myrtha Track Start blocks and FINA certification on both pools reveal the centre’s competitive character. The new pools will be used as training facilities for the next Short Course FINA World Swimming Championships to be held in Abu Dhabi in 2021.
