Centre Aquarécréatif d'Ussel
Opened in 2020, but officially inaugurated 2 years later (due to Covid restrictions) by Claude Chirac and Alain Bernard, the Ussel municipal pool brings together three covered pools located at the heart of the Jacques Chirac complex.
The fact that this pool, renovated by Myrtha Pools, bears the name of the former French president is linked to the fact that, during his period as Secretary of State to the Minister of Finance (1969), Chirac launched the national ‘1,000 pools’ plan. This major project enabled France to provide its towns and cities with a large number of municipal swimming pools, including the town of Ussel in 1973.
Equipped primarily with a 25 m sports pool for competitions and training sessions, the aquatic center also boasts a relax pool with waterfalls and hydromassages, and a 3.20 m deep pool with a climbing wall for diving from a great height. The latter two pools have been equipped with Myrtha Soft Walk to avoid any possibility of injury to children and adults alike.
To keep expenses contained and maintain high standards, Myrtha was chosen for its Renovaction technology which, by avoiding any demolition, enabled the refurbishment of the 25 m pool and the division of an old swimming pool, which today is replaced by the two leisure and recreational pools.
