Aquatic Centre, Vukovar, Croatia
Three new Myrtha Pools in Vukovar
Myrtha Pools has designed three new pools in Vukovar, a small town in Croatia on the bank of the Danube.
The aquatic center has existed here, since the 1990. The re-constructions works necessary after the war made great strides toward bringing the center of the town to a new life.
The jewel of this little town is a modern aquatic center, located 5 km from the downtown area. The venue opened its doors at the beginning of 2017, built with the purpose of developing and promoting sport and recreational activities while also enhancing the quality of life and the health of the citizens of Vukovar and neighboring towns.
Thats not all: the fantastic building was conceived to support the city in making the most of local tourism. The aquatic center, indeed, was designed to host swimming competitions and be the location of important sport events.
This building, characterized by essential and contemporary lines and made of wide windows to exploit the external natural light, covers a surface over 5.000 m² wide and stands where a public swimming pool existed in the 1960s. That pool was destroyed during the war at the beginning of the 1990s.
Today the new facility includes a 50m indoor swimming pool and two outdoor swimming pools. The indoor pool is reserved for learn to swim activities, while one of the outdoor pools is a free form pool featuring floor geysers, hydro massage jets, benches and fountains, specially designed for leisure.
All the pools are provided with the special Softwalk foam mat and underwater lights. Inside the multi-level center is a gym with multifunctional areas, a sauna and a food court, all this to offer a full range of services to the consumers.
