Colby College: Home to Maine’s first 50m pool!

Planned as an aquatics destination for the region, the new pool has been designed to offer training and competition opportunities for New England’s finest swimmers, divers, artistic swimmers and water polo athletes.
Completed and opened right on schedule, the construction project offers an exceptional example of the flexibility of Myrtha’s patented engineered pool system.

Fitting easily into the general contractor’s timetable, the Competition Myrtha was installed in the earliest phase of the project and the building structure was built around the completed pool.
The Colby College ‘C’ on the pool’s bottom will be a source of pride for the school’s students and athletes. Designed with all students in mind, the pool offers unique design features like its shallow entry area and accessible steps that will make it a great destination for lessons, water aerobics and resistance training.

In addition to being Maine’s first 50m pool, the Colby complex is also the first new Olympic pool in the region in more than 8 years. The new tank is welcome water in a region where long-course training and events have been severely limited. The amazing new Myrtha offers local athletes a first-class facility as they vie to qualify for and Nationals and Olympic trials.
