David Olympic Pool
In the fall of 2022, the first Olympic-sized swimming pool in Panama opened up in the town of David, capital of the Chiriqui Province in the western part of the country. This project, executed by Myrtha Pools in accordance with FINA regulations, guarantees athletes, coaches and the public the opportunity to use a first-class facility at any time of the year.
Patience was important to this effort, as the long-awaited project was delayed a year due to closures linked to Covid. Ultimately, when work resumed it was completed in a just a few months. And now that the facility is fully functional, the patience has been rewarded. Panama today has an aquatic complex that is a flagship development for the country, one which will allow it to finally host international events thanks to the quality and utility of the complex.
The pool was built with Myrtha’s stainless steel modular technology and is equipped with Myrtha Track Start racing blocks and Myrtha backstroke ledges, providing swimmers with stable support and FINA-approved competition systems. In addition, Myrtha installed a filtering system suitable for a public facility to ensure pure, clear and safe water for both training and competition.
