Salem KROC Center - Salem, OR
Thanks to funds gave in 2003, from Joan B. Kroc, the widow of the founder of the McDonalds Corporation, some leisure centers were built in the United States: the 1,5 billion dollars legacy intended to the Salvation Army charitable organisation was used for the realization of some thirty community centers. Centers of opportunity, education, recreation and inspiration throughout the Country: some of them have been already built, and others are in the designing phase.
Many of these projects include swimming pools for children and families, designed by Myrtha Pools.
After the inauguration of Coeur Centre of Alene, in Idaho, Salems Kroc centre, Oregon, was opened in a lovely context for its natural environment: the town, in fact, is located in the middle of Willamette Valleys natural park, 47 miles from Portland, about one hour from Cascade mountains and from the oceans beaches.
In this facility, Myrtha Pools installed a competition pool 25yd x25m x 1.2-3.9m and a recreational pool with a 105 m perimeter, beach-entry, maximum depth of 1.2 m and themed with artificial rocks and other accessories that reproduce the local landscape, a hydro massage pool, a lazy river and a small pad for open dives.
