Grand Bleu aquatic centre

Cannes, France

Swimming year round outdoors, without temperature problems? In Cannes, it is possible thanks to the heated swimming pools (at 28 degrees C; 82.4 degrees F) at Le Grand Bleu.

This multifunctional aquatic centre is equipped with two pools for sporting and recreational activities, with the smaller one dedicated to younger children learning to enjoy the water.

The centre debuted in 2013 after a year and a half of work. This allowed for the construction of a 50m swimming pool equipped with Myrtha Track Start blocks and suited to top-level training and racing, plus a 25m vessel featuring shallower water which is dedicated to swimming, aquatic aerobics and learn-to-swim classes. Both pools have been completed, technically and aesthetically, with Myrtha Pools recessed steps and gutter-mounted stainless steel grabrails.

This superb aquatic centre was designed and built not only for the general public but also for sports associations, who enjoy the wonderful setting for the athletes as well as the fast times that typically come from meets held here. Among the facility’s fans are none other than Alain Bernard, former gold medalist at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, who provided an endorsement of Le Grand Bleu in an interview with Cannes TV on the facility’s opening day.
