Coastlands Aquatic Center opens in New Zeland
The new swimming pool complex of coastlands Aquatic Center has been recently opened in Kapiti Coast, New Zealand.
The center has been designed to provide both sports facilities suitable for athletes and a recreation opportunity for the whole community.
All the pools inside the Center have been designed and installed by Myrtha Pools.
A main pool (25x25x2.4 m), heated at 28 degrees, and provided with a moveable floor that makes it multifunctional. The pool is dedicated above all to swimming competitions and deep-water sports but it can also be used for aqua fitness and aqua walking.
A smaller pool, heated at 32 degrees and equipped with ramp. The pool is dedicated to swimming lessons, hydrotherapy activities, activities for disabled and groups of kids.
The complex is also equipped with:
• a toddlers’ pool with water features;
• a hydroslide;
• a hydromassage pool and sauna;
In line with Kapiti Coast Disctrict Council strong environmental sustainability principles, the project of Coastlands Aquatic Centre includes many energy-saving design features, among which for example the special translucent foil-roof, which lets in natural light and contributes to substantially reduce heating and lighting costs.
