Kroc Center Hampton Roads – Norfolk, VA

As Myrtha Pools continues its collaboration with the Ray and Joan Kroc Salvation Army Centers, the latest KrocCenter has just recently celebrated its grand opening in Norfolk, Virginia. Myrtha Pools has collaborated on new pool installations in over 13 of the new facilities located across the USA from Hawaii, Idaho, Pennsylvania to Georgia.

The Kroc Centers were a dream of Joan Kroc, widow of McDonald’s restaurant founder Ray Kroc.

She left money in her estate to “The Salvation Army” foundation to fund comprehensive community centers across the U.S., where children and families would be exposed to different people, activities and arts that would otherwise be beyond their reach.

The Norfolk Kroc Center is a 92.000 square-foot facility, which includes an aquatics center, gym and fitness areas, community rooms, and a 400-seat chapel and theatre for performing arts and worship space.

For the new facility Myrtha Pools designed and built a leisure pool comprised of a lap pool area on one side and a freeform section that terminates with a zero entry pool area on the other side.

The pool, built using the patented Myrtha Technology, measures 35.7×25.85m, depth 1.07-1.80m, and is divided in three sections: two straight and a free form section. The pool includes a multi-story water slidelazy riverzero-entry pool area and geysers.
