Munsu Aquatic Centre

Ulsan, South Korea

Located adjacent to the soccer stadium that hosted the Japan-Korea World Cup in 2002, Munsu Aquatic Center is one of the premier swimming complexes in the region. The stadium and surrounding areas were renovated in 2021, and then reopened to the public as a park and sports centre providing a more pleasant and efficient environment for both competition and leisure. The development is situated on a large parcel of 82,000 square meters, surrounded by green forests and natural lakes.

The Munsu Aquatic Center’s outdated concrete swimming pool has been renovated using RenovAction technology and now features a 50-metre swimming pool and a dive pool, both of which comply with international FINA standards. The swimming pool is now equipped with two mobile headwalls and 20 Myrtha starting blocks. The large diving pool has been designed to train both youngsters and top divers, thanks to the 5-metre depth and the presence of the Myrtha Air Safety Cushion system. This updated swimming facility has become perfect for daily learning and training sessions, and it also offers the option of hosting elite international competitions with a good fan turnout thanks to elevated grandstands.
