Perth 1998, XIII World Swimming Championships
June 1998.
The 8th edition of the World Swimming Championships took place in Perth, Australia, at Challenge Stadium, the most prestigious Australian swimming complex, already equipped with four competition pools.
The Organizing Committee chose Myrtha Pools to provide the complex with a fifth pool, specifically destined for Water Polo.
This permanent in-ground pool was built using 2 meter high stainless steel panels and provided with overflow gutter on all the four sides.
The event has been a smash hit, with more than 1,500 athletes from over 100 Countries in the world.
Still today the swimming pool of the Challenge Stadium is appreciated by the swimming center managers, both for its aesthetic value, and for the simplicity of maintenance.
