Saint Servais Aquatics Centre
The renewed Saint Servais Aquatics Centre stands in the city of Namur, Belgium. The facility, after being shut down for several years, has been renovated and reopened.
Thanks to Myrtha’s patented RenovAction technology, the facility’s main competition pool has undergone a complete makeover, fixing the filtration problems that had forced its closure. In its new form, the main pool, while built for training and competition, also features a water slide for family fun during public-swim hours. The deeper half of the pool houses a unique 7m dive tank, making a perfect SCUBA diving learning and practice area. For swimmer safety when diving, swimming, playing or learning, the entire pool is equipped with an Angel Eye system to quickly alert lifeguards in the event of an emergency. The angel eye takes safety seriously: twelve underwater cameras have been installed in the Saint Servais to monitor pool activity and sound the alarm if a swimmer is in trouble.
For this state-of-the-art centre, Myrtha Pools has also designed a shallow children’s pool to round out the Saint Servais’ programming possibilities. With all it has to offer, the Saint Servais is a shining (and shimmering!) example of the variety that an aquatics centre can provide for its community.
