The Athlon at The Cleveland Athletic Club
The 1911-vintage building at 1118 Euclid Avenue, which had been vacant for over a dozen years and known to many as the Cleveland Athletic Club, has been completely restored to The Athlon, a 168 luxury suite apartments.
The historic structure had one of the few pools in downtown Cleveland, and in that pool is where Olympic swimmer Johnny Weissmuller (Tarzan) set a world record for the 150-yard backstroke in 1922, according to “The Encyclopedia of Cleveland History.”
Recently, High-Tech Pools utilized Myrtha’s RenovAction technology to keep the pool alive for what we hope is another 100 years (or more) for the residents in this famous building on Cleveland’s Euclid corridor. Myrtha is honored to help save a little piece of history and believes Mr. Weissmuller is smiling down on the newly renovated pool.
