Vaudoise Arena

Lausanne, Switzerland

Home to the IOC, FINA and dozens of international sport federations, Lausanne is well known as an elite sporting city. That reputation has only been enhanced by the re-imagining of the Vaudoise Arena, known for hosting the 2020 Winter Olympics. Likewise, Myrtha Pools contributed to the birth of the new Malley Sports Centre to complete a sports hub that now boasts an ice hockey arena, plus a restaurant overlooking the brand new aquatic centre. For the new aquatic facility – a project designed by Pont12 Architects – Myrtha Pools was commissioned to supply and install three pools.

They include a diving well with the air safety cushion, and a multipurpose freeform pool with beach entry and the comfortable Myrtha Soft Walk flooring with antislip. This is a 25m fitness pool combined with a leisure pool that is equipped with a movable floor perfect for Learn to Swim courses, along with hydromassage benches, fountains and a lazy river for relaxing. And finally, the centerpiece for competition is the Olympic-sized Myrtha pool equipped with a split movable bulkhead. This special bulkhead is FINA-approved and makes it easy to create distinct pool areas as well as efficiently maximize pool usage. Thanks to Myrtha Pools’ precision and quality, combined with the 700-seat grandstands, the competitive setting will be perfect for hosting national and international competitions. In fact, Lausanne is investing large resources in new advanced and sustainable sports facilities to encourage physical activity, and the ability to easily host these top-level international events.
