Vielsalm swimming pool

Vielsalm, Belgium

The best aquatic technologies are useful not only to the giants of competitive sport, but also to the more modestly sized users who frequent municipal swimming pools. Expanding the generational use of pools requires ideal conditions which guarantee healthy, safe places for children. And this is certainly the case when it comes to the choices made by the Belgian municipality of Vielsalm, which has entrusted the restyling of its vessels to the experts at Myrtha Pools.

Central to this project was the use of RenovAction technology, an approach that does not require a complete demolition of the pre-existing structure, thus providing significantly reduced time and cost of a thorough refurbishment. The use of our standard hot-rolled panels in white PVC for what we refer to as the skeleton of the structure guarantees perfect waterproofing and long life for the pool, while also inhibiting bacterial proliferation and reducing the quantities of chemicals needed in order to maintain a clean, shimmering experience.

The RenovAction technology, studied by the Myrtha Pools group in collaboration with the University of the Foro Italico of Rome, was used in the two pools that make up the municipal aquatic centre. The 25-meter swimming pool includes a variable depth floor for added utility, while a smaller 8-meter long pool devoted to young children features reduced depth, plus anti-slip flooring to reduce the risk of accident.
