Myrtha Pools becomes official supporter of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024
The Italian pool company is proud to announce the partnership with the Paris 2024 Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The partnership has been formalised on October 10th by Tony Estanguet – President of Paris 2024, and Roberto Colletto – CEO of Myrtha Pools. It’s the first time in the history of the Olympic and Paralympic Games that a world leader in aquatic solutions is involved at this level, in the greatest sporting event on the planet.
Throughout its 60-year history, Myrtha Pools has taken on a large number of challenges and has constructed and installed pools for international sporting events and public facilities around the world. Providing pools to elite athletes and promoting aquatic sports and well-being to citizens of any age, gender, and in any continent is Myrtha’s daily basis, proving this partnership fit perfectly with the company’s values and strategy.
100 years after the first Olympic Games held in Paris, Myrtha Pools is proud to be contributing to this extraordinary event for all of France by providing the competition and warm-up pools at Paris La Défense Arena as well as the warm-up pool at the Olympic Aquatic Centre.
Myrtha Pools is fully committed to Paris 2024’s ambition to leave a legacy in France with the priority of increasing the number of people practicing sports. Indeed, Myrtha Pools will be able to design the competition and warm-up pools for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 in such a way that they can be dismantled after the events and reconfigured and reinstalled in Seine-Saint-Denis, one of the departments with the least aquatic facilities in France.
In line with Paris 2024’s strong objective to reduce carbon emissions, develop the circular economy and contribute to the acceleration of the ecological transformation, Myrtha Pools is reaffirming its strategy of transitioning to a low-carbon company, by investing in the digitalization of swimming pools through the intelligent management of pools and water treatment, and through a new patent that will help to reduce the energy consumption of aquatic centres.
Roberto Colletto, CEO of Myrtha Pools, said: “We are excited to be working with the Paris 2024 Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and contributing to this unique and historic event. As an Official Supporter of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 we will have the honour to build our pools for the competitions but also to leave our legacy to Paris and to France.”
Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024, added: “We are pleased to welcome Myrtha Pools as a partner. This is the first partnership in the field of temporary infrastructures and facilities for Paris 2024. As Paris La Défense Arena will host swimming and water polo competitions for the first time, Myrtha Pools’ technical expertise and knowledge of the Olympic and Paralympic Games will be invaluable in installing the two pools needed for the competition and athletes’ warm-up. Myrtha Pools will also be in charge of installing the warm-up pool in close proximity to the Aquatic Center currently under construction. Finally, the possibility to design and manufacture removable and reusable pools, for the benefit of the local community of Seine-Saint-Denis, is another step forward for the legacy of the Paris 2024 Games, especially for the development of sports activities. We are delighted that Myrtha Pools shares this commitment with us.”
