2016 FINA WOMEN’S INTERCONTINENTAL WATER POLO

Some of the strongest women’s water polo teams in the world competed in Texas during the 2016 FINA Women’s Intercontinental Water Polo Tournament.
This important event took place in Lewisville, a town not far from Dallas, from Feb. 16th to 21st.

For the occasion, Myrtha Pools once again keep high the name of Made in Italy in the field of international sporting events.
The Myrtha pools involved in this important sporting event have been two, both built in the new Westside Aquatic Center of Lewisville.

The water polo competitions took place in the bigger one, that is equipped with two movable bulkheads.
The 25yd pool, equipped with lane markings on the floor and mosaic tile markings on the walls, has been reserved for athletic warm-up stages.

For the six women’s teams, the stakes were high: the best teams took part to the Super Final di World League (from June 7th to 12th, 2016, in Shanghai).
The event ended on Sunday, February 22, with a day full of play-off to determine final placement. The USA team won the first place, with a score of 6-5 against Australia.
