Istanbul 2009, XIII European Championship (25m)
The 13th European Short Course Championship has been held from 10th to 13th December 2009 in Istanbul, Turkey.
For the occasion, Myrtha Pools has been chosen to provide the swimming pools.
The competitions have taken place in the Abdi ?pekçi Arena which is one of the most prestigious multifunctional complexes in Istanbul. This indoor Arena can hold up to 12.500 people and it has been the site for various activities such as concerts, conventions, national and international sporting events.
For the European Swimming Championships, Myrtha Pools installed 2 temporary pools: a 25 x 26 m Myrtha competition pool and a 25 x 15 x 2h m Myrtha warm-up pool, both of them equipped with water filtration system and disinfection plant.
After the event, the two temporary pools have been dismantled to be transformed into a 51 x 26 x 2 m Myrtha permanent pool, equipped with 2 headwalls and a movable bulkhead.
