Simpson Park Community Center - Lakeland, Florida

Myrtha Pools signed a significant renewal of the pool at Simpson Park Community Center in Lakeland, Fla. Built with reinforced concrete in 1988, this pool was previously renovated in 2000 due to water leaks generated  as a result of soil settling and time wear.

In 2013, in addition to needing an aesthetic makeover, the pool at Simpson Park Community Center was having further sealing problems, with significant costs due to frequent refills to reset the correct water level

After careful inspections and a color testing to identify the leaks, the overall condition of the structure proved so critical as to require a complete renovation.

Considering the advantages and the excellent results gained with Myrtha RenovAction Technology for refurbishment of swimming pools in several aquatic centers in Florida, our technology was chosen for the restoration of Simpson Park Community Center pool.

Construction work, aimed to improve performances and design in full compliance with the existing rules, began in winter and finished in time for the summer re-opening.

Renovated to allow swimming activity of athletes on both short and long courses, the 50 mt pool is equipped with springboard diving and scuba-diving areas, complete with two one-meter diving boards, and a hoist lift to allow access to people with mobility difficulties.

The park has excellent outdoor facilities: basketball and tennis courts, a playground, several indoor spaces including a gym for fitness and recreational classes to satisfy the diverse needs of the community.[:]
