A record-breaking performance at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup final in Toronto

Our suspicions were confirmed: Myrtha pools bring out the best in champions. In the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre, known as 'Canada's fastest pool', Myrtha achieved 193 World Record.

In what Canadians call the 'Canada’s fastest pool’, Myrtha achieved a score of 193, just seven points shy of the staggering milestone of 200. This pales in comparison when you consider the history of this Italian family business, which was founded in 1961 and has been driven by a passion for technology ever since. Our suspicions were confirmed: Myrtha pools bring out the best in champions.

Before we had time to celebrate the 185 world records set in Myrtha pools, thanks to performances at the FMC natatorium in Westmont, USA, the swimmers proved that they had reached the end of the year in extraordinary form. The stopwatch at Toronto's iconic Pan Am Sports Centre recorded no fewer than eight world records.

The long list of world records set in Myrtha pools began in 1995 at the Canet-en-Roussillon pool in France, and continued with the stunning pool installed on Rio de Janeiro's beach for the second World Swimming Championships.

The long list of world records set in a Myrtha pool began in 1995 with Denys Pankratov's record, and the latest name to be added is that of American Kate Douglass in the 100-metre freestyle. In addition to Douglass, who set two records last week, Australia's Kaylee McKeown (200m backstroke) and Molly O'Callaghan (200m freestyle) also repeated their achievements.

Built by Myrtha in 2013, the Pan Am Sports Centre remains a state-of-the-art, LEED-certified facility equipped with three Myrtha pools. Thanks to the movable bulkheads in the Olympic pool, it could be divided with millimetre precision for the 25 m races, providing an ideal setting for the home fans' enthusiastic support of Ilya Kharun, who triumphed in the 50 m and 200 m butterfly, and Josh Liendo, who broke the 100 m butterfly record.
