Cutting-edge aquatic rehabilitation and training with Myrtha Flow

The case of the Occhi Azzurri rehabilitation centre sets a new standard for training and therapeutic pools.

The CR2 Sinapsi Centre, a project financed by the Occhi Azzurri Foundation, is a model of innovation in the field of aquatic therapy, rehabilitation and sports training.

The centrepiece of the facility is the swimming area, with a series of pools designed to meet different needs: rehabilitation, vocational training and inclusive activities for athletes and citizens with disabilities.

This ambitious project not only provides a valuable resource for the community, but also sets a new standard in swimming pool technology thanks to the solutions applied by Myrtha Pools.

At the heart of CR2 Sinapsi’s success, is the integration of Myrtha Flow with Endless™ Pools Hydrodrive™ Pro – a revolutionary counter-current swimming system with the self-supporting structure of Myrtha Pools.

Designed for competitive swimming, it can reach speeds of 51 seconds per 100 metres. Myrtha Flow ensures that every stroke is monitored and optimised

Myrtha Flow, with Endless Pools’ Hydrodrive™ Pro technology can uniquely provide real-time feedback, allowing coaches to analyse swimmers’ strokes with extreme precision. Adjustable speed settings and a customisable environment allow athletes, from beginners to professionals, to perfect their performance under close supervision.

At the heart of Myrtha Flow is the Endless Pools Hydrodrive Pro current system, which features a powerful 7.5hp motor capable of replicating the speeds of competitive swimming, ideal for both training and therapeutic use. Whether sprinters are challenging their pace or Paralympic athletes honing their skills, like Efrem Morelli featured in the picture below, Myrtha Flow ensures that every stroke is monitored and optimised. Designed for competitive swimming, it can reach speeds of 51 seconds per 100 metres.

Myrtha Flow with Endless Pools Hydrodrive Pro’s adjustable flow is perfect for athletes who wish to vary the intensity of their training and is an ideal tool for post-operative rehabilitation. The Endless Pool Hydrodrive Pro integration also makes it perfect for rehabilitation, especially post-trauma recovery, allowing patients to regain strength and mobility in a controlled, low-impact environment.

The Myrtha Flow pool consists of a self-supporting Myrtha structure combined with special buttresses and is finished off on the outside with perimeter cladding and a ladder. Internally, the pool is equipped with two skimmers and water circulation jets. For ease of access, it can be fitted with a seat to facilitate use by people with reduced mobility.

Beyond professional athletes and para-athletes: for the CR2 Sinapsi, Myrtha also supplied a state-of-the-art therapeutic pool

The benefits of Myrtha’s technology go beyond its use by professional athletes. Myrtha Flow’s built-in filtration system can operate as a stand-alone unit or be integrated within an existing filtration system, adapting perfectly to different operational requirements. This level of versatility ensures durability and economic sustainability for years to come.

For the CR2 Sinapsi, Myrtha also supplied a therapeutic pool equipped with whirlpool jets and air jets, a shallow pool designed for paediatric use for patients with neurological disorders, and a cold pool ideal for muscle recovery after exercise and for patients with circulatory problems. For maximum safety and comfort, these pools have been fitted with the special Myrtha SoftWalk anti-slip membrane to reduce impact shock.
