Son Hugo: the Myrtha pool measures exactly 50 metres
Renovated in 2021, the pools at the Son Hugo Sports Centre in Mallorca are once again making headlines. This time, during the international Spring Open Championships, officials from the Spanish Swimming Federation, on behalf of World Aquatics (formerly FINA), measured the length of the indoor Myrtha pool to verify the athletes’ results.
La Palma is a key event in the Iberian swimming calendar, particularly for Spanish swimmers seeking qualification for the World Championships in Fukuoka, and also for international athletes aiming for next year’s Paris Olympic Games. For that reason, it’s no surprise that the pool was measured using a precision surveying instrument – once again confirming how the millimetric accuracy of Myrtha technology ensures full compliance with national and international standards, leaving no room for uncertainty.
A welcome relief, especially for Portuguese swimmer Camila Rebelo, whose qualification in the 200m backstroke was thereby officially confirmed.
