Myrtha Pools played a central role in the creation of Celebration Key, Carnival Cruise Line’s new private destination on Grand Bahama.
Conceived as the heart of the island experience, the project features two expansive pool lagoons designed to welcome thousands of guests each day. Myrtha was selected to deliver the complete lagoon structures and waterproofing systems, combining engineering precision with finishes tailored for a tropical leisure setting. The lagoons were built using Myrtha’s stainless steel modular technology, chosen for its durability, installation speed and long-term performance in demanding coastal environments. Each basin features a skimmer perimeter specifically engineered for freeform geometries, ensuring reliable water levels even under high bather loads and changing weather conditions.

Strahlenturbulenz
Water circulation within the lagoons is supported by Myrtha’s Strahlenturbulenz wall inlets, engineered to optimise flow distribution and avoid stagnation in large aquatic surfaces. Their design ensures efficient mixing, reliable turnover rates and consistent comfort for swimmers throughout the basins.

Myrtha Skin
To reinforce the most critical basin areas are lined with Myrtha Skin, a reinforced membrane laminated with stainless steel that ensures excellent mechanical resistance, chemical stability and a clean finish thanks to its white surface coating. These solutions guarantee a comfortable and safe environment while simplifying maintenance over time.

Myrtha SoftFloor
To enhance comfort and safety, the beach-entry areas were finished with Myrtha SoftFloor, a cushioned elastic surface that reduces impact and provides a pleasant, non-slip feel underfoot, an important feature in shallow zones and family areas.
Below the surface, Myrtha supplied a complete technical package, specialised skimmers, underwater lighting. and structural attachment points for shading systems, floating platforms and other amenities.
Myrtha Solutions' innovative solutions enabled the project team to avoid the need to construct a massive concrete slab measuring almost 14,000 square metres per lagoon. Instead, a thin slab of compact soil (compacted soil with 5% cement added) was sufficient to allow the lagoon structure to be installed.
In addition to Carnival Cruise Line, the project involved key partners whose expertise contributed to its successful delivery. Martin Aquatic provided specialist consultancy and supplied its patented Blue Mar Basins® water-management technology, ensuring consistent filtration and water clarity across the lagoons. Bahamas Environmental Group served as the on-site project manager, coordinating local processes and ensuring that the development met all environmental and operational requirements throughout construction.
Celebration Key features family and adults-only areas, beach clubs, restaurants, retail spaces and extensive shoreline amenities. At the centre of it all, the pool lagoons delivered by Myrtha Pools provide the signature aquatic experience of the destination: visually striking, welcoming for all ages and engineered for long-term reliability in a tropical coastal setting.
