The Mladost Swimming Complex in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, is a strong example of how collaboration between institutions, designers, and technology partners can expand athletic opportunities in a region.
Before the new complex was built, the community relied on an aging 25-meter Soviet-era concrete pool that no longer met modern training or competition standards. Myrtha Pools partnered with general contractor GBS, committed to adopting modular stainless steel technology, to deliver a 50-meter Olympic-standard pool that now serves as an important community asset. The pool meets international requirements and is designed to support training programs, competitions, and educational activities.
To ensure these standards, the installation includes several key features: Myrtha movable headwalls, Myrtha Track Start starting blocks with inclined platforms, adjustable track starts and integrated rear steps, and a Myrtha movable bulkhead that enables multiple configurations depending on the needs of the facility.
