At NMDC Sports Complex in Dharwad, Karnataka, a new aquatic facility has replaced a swimming pool that had served the district for several years and had fallen into disrepair.
Built using Myrtha technology, the new pool gives local swimmers and Karnataka’s wider swimming community a venue designed to international standards.
At the heart of the facility is a 50-metre competition pool ranging in depth from 1.2 to 5.2 metres, allowing the same pool to serve both swimming and diving. A movable bulkhead provides flexibility for different programmes, from squad training and diving practice to 50-metre competitions. An anti-slip flooring in the shallow section provides additional grip for learn-to-swim activities, supporting the facility’s role in both community swimming and competition.
The new facility complements the Myrtha pool at Sports Complex Hubli, which also accommodates swimming and diving in an Olympic-size pool. Together, the two projects reinforce Myrtha’s growing presence in Karnataka’s aquatic infrastructure.
