7th FINA World Aquatics Championships

September 1994. Myrtha Pools is official supplier of the 7th FINA World Aquatics Championships, held in Rome.

On this occasion, Myrtha Pools installed a swimming pool unique in the world on the main tennis court of the Foro Italico, where the International Tennis Championships are disputed every year. Very short times were necessary to install the pool, not to limit too much the possibilities of use of the tennis court.

Furthermore, not being absolutely possible to make any masonry work, an above ground, completely self-supporting and removable pool was built in less than 30 days. The pool, 33x21x3 m, used for artistic swimming and women water-polo competitions, was completed with overflow gutter on the four sides, water treatment system, heating system and underwater windows for television broadcast. The so-called “Marble Pool” was afterwards dismantled, and its components have been used for building two different pools in Coral Spring Aquatic Center, FL, as a confirmation of the extreme versatility of Myrtha Technology, that allows for the variation even total of the initial dimensions.
