The Para Swimming World Series reaches its grand finale in a Myrtha pool in Lima

For the first time in its history, the Para Swimming World Series brings its grand finale to South America and there could hardly be a more fitting venue than Lima’s state-of-the-art Videna Aquatic Centre.

From 23 to 25 October, the Peruvian capital hosts more than 200 swimmers from 16 nations for the culmination of the 2025 season, a celebration of excellence, resilience and precision. Athletes participating in the Para Swimming Grand Finale in Lima include people with intellectual, physical and visual disabilities, competing in various categories and events.

The Videna Aquatic Centre, though, is as much a protagonist as the athletes themselves. Built for the 2019 Pan American Games, the complex boasts three world-class Myrtha pools for competition, training and diving.

“The choice of Lima underscores the growing global reach of Para swimming and the region’s commitment to accessibility and elite sports development”

As World Para Swimming wrote: “The choice of Lima underscores the growing global reach of Para swimming and the region’s commitment to accessibility and elite sports development”, and it concludes that all pools are “equipped with cutting-edge Myrtha Pools technology, ensuring top conditions for athletes and officials alike.”

Six years after its opening, the centre remains a benchmark for aquatic design and a symbol of how thoughtful engineering can serve the highest ideals of sport. As the World Series finale unfolds, Videna and Myrtha reaffirm that great swimming demands not only great athletes, but great swimming pools.
