Aaron is quite at home in his native upper Midwest, coordinating the Myrtha sales effort in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana and Michigan. He brings a wealth of experiences in aquatics to the fore as a former competitive swim standout growing up in Illinois and through his collegiate years at Wisconsin. A journalism/history undergrad degree at Wisconsin led to a deeply satisfying career at the Daily Herald newspaper in suburban Chicago, where Aaron organized award-winning high school sports coverage for about 25 years before joining the Myrtha team in 2019.
Recent years have continued to add layers of knowledge to his aquatics skill set, as he has parented two young adults who were fervent swimmers and water polo players. Aaron also coaches age group swimming in the Chicago area with Reach Aquatics, competes in open-water races of all sorts and regularly contributes to Myrtha’s public presence through the monthly Off The Blocks newsletter. Conveniently, he manages to indulge his main hobby of flyfishing while on the job with Myrtha and reports having caught at least one trout during highly focused ‘pool’ visits in each of the states under his direction.
