Myrtha Pools reaches a new goal with the construction of the recently inaugurated aquatics center built at the Victoria Park, Hong Kong. The prestigious new structure has been erected to replace the old city aquatics center, built in 1957 and officially closed in September 2013.
The Hong Kongs Leisure and Cultural Services Department chose Myrtha Pools for the construction of two pools using Myrthas patented technology. The Myrtha Technology allows for high quality, state-of-the-art pools that meet all of FINAs regulations.
The new structure covers a 24,000 sm surface and is located inside Victoria Park, the largest public park in Hong Kong, situated on the Causeway bay. The new building provides the largest capacity spectators area in the city and can accommodate up to 2,500 people.
The new complex includes an indoor competition pool, 52x25m, depth 2.0-2.7m, and an indoor diving pool, 33x25m, constant depth 5.7m.
The recently opened structure is the ideal location to host international competitions and training exercises for different disciplines such as diving, swimming and water polo.
Thanks to the new pools, the Victoria Park complex was able to participate bid process to host the 2016 FINA World Championships (25m). The event was ultimately awarded to the Canadian city of Windsor, which is also equipped with pools utilizing the Myrtha technolog.
